  • OJ Simpson, accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown has died aged 76

He was battling prostate cancer and spent his final days in hospice care

OJ Simpson, real name Orenthal James Simpson died of cancer on 10 April 2024.

He was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her partner Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles in 1995. He was acquitted of their murder during that trial but was found responsible for their murders in a civil lawsuit.

He was acquitted of the murders on 3 October 1995. The trial was widely publicised not just in America but all around the world. This is because OJ was a celebrated NFL running back and actor. He had a huge American football career with the Buffalo Bills. Known as “The Juice”. He was one of the most celebrated football players of the 1970s. He set records and gaining induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. He was a cultural icon. He was a broadcaster and actor, after he retired from football. Unfortunately he totally ruined his legacy with his heinous crimes.

On 31 May 2023, OJ announced he “caught” cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy.

Karma finally found OJ.

Ron Goldman’s father said OJ’s death only amplified his grief for his murdered son.

At the “trial of the century”, OJ was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife and her friend Ron Goldman. A civil trial later found he was found liable for their murders. He was ordered to pay their families $$US millions. Lawyers for the families are now looking at getting that money from his estate. as he refused to give them anything.

OJ Simpson was an American football player, actor and broadcaster. He played in the National Football League for eleven seasons, primarily with the Buffalo Bills. He was regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time. Pity he tarnished that by being a domestic violence perpetrator towards his late ex-wife Nicole Brown. And Ron Goldman, her new partner. His ex-wife and her boyfriend were found stabbed to death on 12 June 1994. Simpson then led police on a famous, televised slow-speed chase in a white Ford Bronco on 17 June 1994. This was on the LA highways. It was televised all around the world. Simpson’s life spiralled after that.

He was convicted of armed robbery in 2008. This was for a 2007 incident where he led a group to steal his own sports memorabilia at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel. He served nine years in prison and was released on parole in 2017. He finally made it to jail for the murders of his wife and her boyfriend. And now he’s dead.
