  • King Charles returns to public duty with a visit to a cancer centre

Queen Camilla was by his side as they visited the UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre

King Charles looked like he was back to his normal charming self, happy to be in the throngs of people who appreciate his presence.

Charles and Camilla visited the cancer centre to show solidarity and hope for the cancer patients and to hear and listen to their stories. They also talked to the doctors and other medical specialists at the centre. Charles and Camilla heard about the technology used and the way that cancer is detected in people.

This type of exposure and publicity helps to encourage people to get tested early if they notice unusual symptoms. It’s a good public service by the King, who is also undergoing chemotherapy treatment for his own undisclosed cancer. When asked how he was, Charles replied that he was “alright”. He also said he was due to have chemotherapy treatment later today. And Charles commiserated with other cancer patients when he said, “it was a bit of a shock to be diagnosed with cancer.” That’s why people love him – he has the common touch.

Charles was literally mobbed outside and inside the cancer centre. So many people wanted to shake his hand. The British people absolutely love him. And they feel a strong sense of connection to the royal family. They wish only the best for him.

King Charles’ doctors gave him the go-ahead to return to some public duties. This visit was the first one for King Charles since he took some time out for treatment and recuperation. He made sure to go with his “darling wife”, Queen Camilla.

From Buckingham Palace: “His majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness”.

It’s very good to see King Charles out at public facing engagements. It gives the British people hope that he is getting better and provides stability for the British Royal Family.
