William also visited a mental health charity to support them too
Prince William, 41 visited one of the Earthshot finalists, Low Carbon Materials, who are located in the north-east of England. They make low carbon, net-zero construction materials, to help the construction industry become more green. Protecting the environment is one of Prince William’s aims in life. He likes to promote charities and companies who are greening the world.
At Low Carbon Materials, Prince William donned a lab coat, black protective gloves and protective glasses in the laboratory. The staff showed him how they make low carbon concrete. The discussion at the facility also centred around how the Earthshot prize gave the company more kudos, more customers and more of a profile than they otherwise would have.
According to the Royal Foundation, The Earthshot Prize is a global environmental award that is rewarded to five winners each year for their contributions towards environmentalism. It was first awarded in 2021 and is planned to run annually until 2030. Each winner receives a grant of £1 million to continue their environmental work.
The Sun reports that when royal fans asked “Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?” William responded: “All doing well, thank you. Yes, we’re doing well”.
Prince William then visited James’ Place to open their new facility at Newcastle. James’ Place is a men’s mental health charity that also has locations in Liverpool and London. According to their website, their aim is to “save the lives of men in suicidal crisis”. William heard how James’ Place helped to save the lives of many men in suicide crisis.
James’ Place In Liverpool, the first centre, was initially set up James Wentworth-Stanley’s parents after he took his life in 2006. Prince William opened the first James’ Place facility in Liverpool in 2018. At that time, he spoke to James Wentworth-Stanley’s parents about the scourge of suicide.

Promoting men’s mental health is another passion for Prince William. He talks about good mental health at every opportunity. He also promotes charities that help men to encourage positive mental health strategies.
Prince William promoting these mental health charities helps to encourage people to use their free help and live better lives. It also gives them a lot more exposure so that people can donate to them and keep them viable.
William returned to royal duties earlier this month after taking time out to support his wife, Catherine and their three young children as they processed the news of her cancer diagnosis.
