There is no conspiracy, folks
After Princess Catherine released a video stating she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy for cancer that had been discovered after her surgeons performed the abdominal therapy, many of her detractors but not all, felt guilt for posting conspiracy theories online. Some notable ones continued to post conspiracy theories like they were being paid for it.
Getty images placed a generic disclaimer on her video, which was because their videographers didn’t take the video, not because the video was a fake. Calm down conspiracy theorists, it wasn’t an AI deep fake. It was just supplied by Kensington Palace but was filmed by the BBC, hence the warning that it was a ‘handout’ and not filmed by Getty photographers.
An editor’s note attached to the video reads: “This Handout clip was provided by a third-party organisation and may not adhere to Getty Images’ editorial policy.” Getty lists the image source as BBC Studios/Kensington Palace”.
