A bombshell court filing says Riley Keough is his biological mother

Let’s cut straight to the red carpet gossip. A recently filed lawsuit has set the internet ablaze with claims that Riley Keough. Yes, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter and a respected actress in her own right. It claims she is the biological mother of Benjamin “Ben” Travolta, the youngest son of John Travolta and the late Kelly Preston.

Before anyone starts slapping that headline on a tabloid cover, this is important. The claim comes from a lawsuit that has nothing whatsoever to do with Ben Travolta’s actual paternity. And it’s unverified and strongly denied by attorneys for the Presley family.

What the lawsuit actually alleges

In an amended breach-of-contract lawsuit filed by former business partners of Priscilla Presley (Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko), court documents contain a sensational allegation. That Riley Keough provided eggs which were then used by John Travolta and Kelly Preston in a fertility procedure resulting in the birth of Ben in 2010. The filing claims Keough received a car and between $10,000 and $20,000 for doing so.

The suit even references alleged statements from Michael Lockwood (ex-husband of Riley’s late mother, Lisa Marie Presley) about the Travoltas’ conception efforts. Including an eyebrow-raising quote about rejecting Lisa Marie’s own eggs.

But here’s the key point: none of this has been independently verified. The allegations stem from one party’s narrative in a broader legal dispute, not from paternity tests, court rulings on the matter or any acknowledgment by the families involved.

What officials and lawyers are saying

Priscilla Presley’s attorney has blasted the claim as “outrageous” and “shameful”. They noted it has no relevance to the underlying legal case and was included purely as leverage in the dispute.

No representative for John Travolta, Riley Keough, or the Travolta family more broadly has confirmed the paternity claim. And neither has the court validated it. As of now, it remains an unproven allegation tucked inside a lawsuit.

Who Is Riley Keough, Anyway?

Riley Keough isn’t some random Hollywood ingénue. She’s the daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, granddaughter of Elvis Presley. She has built a solid acting and producing career. She’s had notable roles in Mad Max: Fury Road, American Honey and Daisy Jones & The Six.

Importantly, there’s absolutely no credible evidence she and Travolta have any relationship beyond this bizarre allegation. And suggesting otherwise — especially involving the parentage of a minor — without verification crosses into irresponsible territory.

What about Travolta & Kelly Preston’s family?

John Travolta and Kelly Preston were married from 1991 until Kelly’s death from breast cancer in 2020. They had three children: Jett (who tragically died in 2009), Ella Bleu Travolta, and Ben. Kelly Preston was open about the joy Ben brought to their family when he was born in 2010.

There’s no indication — outside this lawsuit’s accusations — that anything about Ben’s birth or parentage has ever been unclear or disputed. The Travoltas presented him publicly as their biological child, with Kelly as his mother. But that doesn’t mean it’s not true. And it also doesn’t mean it is true.

The John Travolta “gay rumours” that won’t go away: a quick reality check

Let’s be frank: Internet gossip about John Travolta’s sexuality has been a perennial tabloids’ favourite for decades. With some versions claiming his marriage was a cover or that his relationships within certain circles fuelled speculation.

But here’s the straight talk: those are rumours, not verified facts. Celebrity gossip often recycles old innuendo dressed as “insider stuff”. Unless someone credible produces evidence, they should be treated like the gossip they are. Nothing in this lawsuit is a confirmation of past speculation about Travolta’s private life; the filing doesn’t even allege that. The John Travolta “gay rumours” just won’t go away, they have been around for decades. The rumours allege he didn’t actually consummate his marriage so they needed to make the babies a clinical way.

So has it been verified?

Nope. Not even close. Right now:

  • The claim exists only in lawsuit paperwork.
  • Lawyers for the Presley family have denied it.
  • No paternity tests or court findings support it.
  • Neither Travolta nor Keough has publicly confirmed anything.

This is exactly the sort of juicy, distracting storyline tabloids love. But without verified evidence, it’s not a proven truth and could easily be thrown out of court or dismissed entirely. But then again, it could be true. Priscilla Presley’s business partner would be privy to this information. So stay tuned.
