  • Meghan Markle “reaches out” to her father… according to her PR team

The hospital and the Markle family say – absolutely not

If there is one thing more predictable than a Meghan Markle lifestyle rebrand, it’s the clockwork-regular moment when her PR team announces that she has “reached out” to her estranged father.

But this time?
Oh, this time the plot twist is so spectacularly awkward it deserves its own Netflix documentary.

Because while Meghan’s spokesperson confidently told the world that she has contacted her father following his leg amputation…

the hospital in the Philippines and Markle family members have now publicly said they’ve seen zero evidence of any contact.

None. Nada. Not a whisper, not a phone call, not even a polite “Get well soon” Post-It Note drifting under the door.

Seven-plus years of silence… and one magical email no one can find

According to Meghan’s side, she reached out — in the form of an email — after media coverage of Thomas’ amputation hit global headlines.

But here’s the problem:

  • Hospital staff say Meghan has made no contact.
  • Thomas’ own family says Meghan has made no contact.
  • Thomas himself has said he has not heard from her.

The only people saying a message was sent… are Meghan’s representatives.

It’s giving “I did my homework but my dog ate it” energy.

The hospital essentially said: We checked — she didn’t call

This might be the most mortifying part of the whole saga.

When Meghan’s team briefed the press about her compassionate “outreach,” reporters naturally asked the hospital in Cebu whether Meghan had contacted them or her father.

And the hospital’s answer was, in diplomatic medical terms:
Absolutely not.

No call from Meghan.
No email to staff.
No liaison.
No anything.

Imagine being so dedicated to managing your public image that you publicly announce you’ve reached out… assuming no one will check.

Spoiler: they checked.

Markle family members are saying the same thing

Thomas Markle’s other children have also spoken to media, and their view is blunt:

They say Meghan has not contacted their father at all. Not even the email Meghan claims she sent. And why would she think it was appropriate to send an email to her father who is in ICU? Is that even a thing?

Not now.
Not during the health emergency.
Not in the last eight years.

So the scoreboard currently reads:
Hospital: 0
Family: 0
Thomas himself: 0
Meghan’s PR team: 1 (unverified claim)

It’s not giving “reconciliation.”
It’s giving “strategic press release.”

The “compassion” brand is really struggling right now

Meghan has built an entire public persona around empathy, healing, connection, family values, all delivered in soft-focus lighting with inspirational quotes.

But in real life?

  • Her father is elderly, medically fragile, recovering from a major amputation.
  • He lives alone in the Philippines, far away from any support network.
  • He has begged publicly — literally begged — for a conversation before he dies.
  • And she has not contacted him directly, according to every source except… her own team.

The contrast is so sharp you can slice a lemon with it.

If this was meant to look compassionate… it did not

Let’s be honest:
If Meghan genuinely wanted people to believe she had reached out, the smartest move would have been:

  • Actually reaching out, and
  • Not having the hospital immediately contradict the claim.

Instead, this has turned into a PR face-plant:

  • Meghan’s team: She reached out!
  • Hospital: No she didn’t.
  • Family: We’ve seen no contact whatsoever.
  • Thomas: Still waiting.

It’s the emotional equivalent of mailing an empty envelope and expecting applause.

Eight years of estrangement + a disputed email = not a Hallmark ending

This isn’t reconciliation.
This isn’t healing.
This isn’t even minimal effort.

This is the barest of bare-minimum gestures. And according to the people closest to Thomas, even that gesture never actually happened.

If Meghan truly wanted to show love, compassion, or even basic human decency, she could pick up a phone. She could send a recorded message. She could fly to Cebu. She could send flowers. She could do anything that exists outside the realm of PR imagination.

But she didn’t. And the people on the receiving end are saying so.

So for now, the only thing Meghan seems to have “reached out” to… is the press. That’s her usual way of presenting her brand of faux compassion. But this time it didn’t work because it was discredited as “this never happened”.
