  • Prince Harry and his wife Meghan on their “faux royal” Nigerian tour

The wanna-be former royals on a tour of Nigeria at the behest of General Christopher Musa

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle landed in Nigeria on Friday 10 May, on the first day of their 3 day tour of Nigeria.

General Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence invited Harry and Meghan to Nigeria. They’ll visit schools and injured service members during the visit and promote the Invictus Games.

School visit

At a school, Meghan claimed her almost 2 year old daughter told her, “I see me in you”. Which toddler has the ability to speak like that? None. It was just part of her schtick to tell the young students, “I see myself in all of you, as well”. None of those students would understand what that means. It seemed like a cynical attempt to associate herself and her daughter with the Nigerian students as Meghan claims she is 43% Nigerian. Now, where is that genealogy test showing her ancestry, because she also claimed she was half Maltese. Curious.

Visit to wounded Nigerian veterans hospital

After the school visit, Harry went to visit veterans in a hospital where he gave a very cool “pep” talk to injured Nigerian soldiers. Some of them had prosthetic limbs. Harry made sure to stay at the foot of their bed, like their great colonial overlord doctor. Harry mimed to them with his hands, rather than talk to them. He was very unprepared for this visit. He really is not his mother. There were no hugs. No sitting on the bed and talking to them. No warmth. Just Prince Harry at a distance, doing what he was obliged and paid to do. But he didn’t put any effort into it. Those men seemed like they were not impressed. It was obviously a publicity stunt. Harry asked one wounded soldier if he named his prosthetic leg. Seems a bit of a weird thing for him to tell the soldier to do.

There is a photo of Harry holding one of the war veterans. Missan Harriman, their favourite photographers took the photo. He is travelling with them, to take photos and videos that put them in a positive light.

Meghan actually travelled to Heathrow airport, where she met up with Harry and from there they travelled together after that to Nigeria. All paid for by the Nigerian government.

Reactions on Twitter

There’s a lot of chit chat in Nigeria that they have only been invited as a political tool for the Defence General.

The comments to this influencer’s post about “jubilation” in the streets is quite something. One of the quoted tweets is similar to the sentiment of most. They don’t understand the point of this visit.

What do you think about the “faux” royals visit to Nigeria? Do you think they want to be back in the real royals fold? Or do you think they are doing this while Harry’s father King Charles is unwell?
